BRUCE HIBBS MAKES LATE MODEL DEBUT AT HICKORY

July 16, 2007 - Hickory, NC – Team Full Throttle NASCAR Driver Development racer Bruce Hibbs Jr. made his debut at one of the south’s most famous NASCAR short tracks last Saturday night when he drove the David Collier owned Late Model for the first time at Hickory Motor Speedway in Hickory, NC and overcame a series of mechanical issues to complete all 50 laps of the Late Model Stock feature, improving his lap times steadily throughout the event.

“It was an exciting weekend for sure,” the 16-year old Delaware resident said. “We had problems with the motor missing on Friday during the practice session and it still wasn’t right this afternoon so we replaced almost the whole ignition system, and worked on the carburetor trying to get it right. Once we got through that it ran good in the feature but I hadn’t had very many laps up to speed so I just wanted to get some consistency and stay out of everybody’s way and learn. I’m happy that we got faster as the race went on. We need to make some adjustments for next week, but we know it’s there. I have to thank David Collier for letting us run the car, and of course my whole family and all of my sponsors for everything they have done to help us get on the track.”

Team Full Throttle founder and Vice President Tom Baker was very pleased with Bruce’s first outing in the car. “He did a tremendous job considering the problems the car had prior to race day. He hadn’t had any laps at race speed and he improved over a second from Friday to Saturday. He was within a half second of the leaders in the race once he got some green flag laps under his belt. We’re very happy with his poise and the way he handled himself under the circumstances. He’s going to be a champion in the sport he just needs experience on the pavement.”

Bruce’s next race will be at Hickory Motor Speedway on Saturday, July 21st. His marketing partners include Swedge Lock Fence and Railing, Advanced Post Frame Systems, Seaford Pet Emporium, Simpson Race Products, Hammerhead Promotions, Butler Built Seats, Cool Shirt, Hoven Sunglasses, Mid Shore Graphics, Firewalker Racing Fuels, P.E. Bruce is a member of the Team Full Throttle NASCAR Driver Development Program and is represented by Driver Development Services, LLC. of Charlotte, NC.
