BROWNING SCORES CAREER BEST THIRD IN HUNTSVILLE LATE MODELS
July 16, 2007 - Collierville, TN – Team Full Throttle Driver Development racer Beau Browning has been a fan favorite on and off the track at Huntsville Speedway this year due to his outgoing personality and his surprisingly strong performance in his rookie year racing Late Models. Last Friday night he raised the bar for himself even higher when he quietly charged from his eighth place starting spot to finish a career best third at the checkers.

In the pit area after the event, Beau reflected on the night and his season to-date with a smile. “It took us about three or four weeks to get this third place,” he joked. “We spent two weeks trying to get me over surgery to remove my tonsils, and then another couple of weeks waiting through rainouts. Marty Pierce does an outstanding job setting up the car. I’ve tried all year just to be smart with my driving and let the results be whatever they will. I need to be consistent and finish races to get seat time and learn this car as much as possible. We’ve had a fourth, a sixth, an eleventh, and a third out of five starts. The only non-top ten was when we got taken out on the first lap by a car that spun across the track in front of us. I have to be happy with a season like that so far!”

Beau’s next start is July 27th at Huntsville, a track he says he is starting to feel very comfortable with in the Late Model. “I won the championship in the Legends cars there last year, but the Late Model is such a different car to drive. It’s easier in a lot of ways, but the track gets a lot smaller with the full size car so I’ve had to be even more smooth and not quite as aggressive as I was at times with the Legends. I do believe we can win a race before this year’s out, but I’m not going to drive over my head to make it happen. I’ll take the shot if it’s there, but I’d really like to finish top three to top five the rest of the way so I have to keep my head together.”
