What qualifications do I need to be eligible for the Team Full Throttle Driver Development Program?

We are looking for drivers who are currently racing on a regular basis. You must have a good level of success, meaning that you should be finishing in or around the top-5 on any given week. You do not need to be winning every race, but you must be able to put yourself in a position to win. In addition, you should be well-spoken, well-groomed and appealing to a potential sponsor.

Do you accept everyone into the Program?

Absolutely not. We get dozens of resumes and phone calls each week and politely inform the majority that they are not eligible. Again, we are only interested in drivers who have the potential to win at each level and eventually move to a NASCAR Series.

What can I expect from Team Full Throttle?

What we offer is a comprehensive Driver Development Program for the serious and committed racer. Training in the areas of marketability, media skills, leadership quality and life values are what we cover off the track. On-track training includes all of the elements associated with moving from one type of car to the next, as well as, patience, pass-timing, equipment management, communications and “big picture” racing. Additionally, we provide full marketing, sponsorship procurement and public relations services and website development. We are giving you all the tools necessary to succeed.

How long is the program and will it cost any money?

Our Driver Development program is a three-year commitment. In order for us to accomplish the task of preparing a driver for the major leagues we need to take the appropriate steps. While some drivers can move quicker through the program, a majority will take time. A retainer fee is due upon signing the Agreement. The fees are based on a sliding scale, depending on a few factors, and vary case-to-case.

Why & Why?

In addition to the explanation above, we have constructed the three-year commitment for our protection as well. As a member of the Team Full Throttle Driver Development Program you will be getting every possible resource necessary to succeed. In addition to Mike and Tom, we have assembled the most talented people in the industry to help you. What we are avoiding is a scenario where we train a driver to achieve success and they subsequently move to another program or team without our influence. As for the fees, we feel that what we bring to the program has a significant value – much higher than the fee we charge – but we need to cover our time and expenses to cultivate a driving career. The fee also serves as a commitment on the part of the driver.

Why is there a Conduct Clause in your Agreement?

The principles of Team Full Throttle and Driver Development Services, LLC are well-respected, well-noted members of the NASCAR community. They have worked hard in their respective positions to achieve a level of success that enables them to help cultivate driving careers. In addition to their company, they also represent NASCAR teams and sponsors. So, it is imperative that those whom they work with portray a positive image and influence – regardless of how well they can drive.

Am I guaranteed to make it to a top NASCAR Series?

You will quickly learn that there are no guarantees – ever. How you progress in the program, your level of commitment and ability to drive faster cars against tougher competition will dictate how far you can go in the sport. We will continually evaluate your progress and be honest with our reports. It will be clear in a relatively short span whether or not you can be elevated to a major series.

What happens if I lose interest in racing or decide to take a different career path in motorsports?

What you will learn as a result of the program can benefit you in whatever you choose to do. Communications, leadership and general management elements will give you the skill sets to succeed at anything.
